Inactive Account Policy

1. Definition of Inactive Accounts

1.1 Accounts:
   - An account refers to a user profile created on WoWEmu.
   - An account becomes active when the user logs in and performs any posting activity.

1.2 Inactive Accounts:
   - An account is considered inactive if no login or posting activity has occurred for a continuous period of one (1) year.
   - An account that has been logged into without any posting activity is still considered active.


2. Handling of Inactive Accounts

2.1 Account Responsibility:
   - The account owner is solely responsible for the standing and activity of their account.
   - WoWEmu will not reach out to account owners regarding account activity or inactivity.

2.2 Closure of Inactive Accounts:
   - Accounts that fall into inactive status will be subject to closure.
   - Closure involves grouping accounts that are no longer eligible for usage while preserving the structure and authorship of contributed materials.
   - Closed accounts are not eligible for reopening unless approved by an Administrator.

2.3 Pruning of Closed Accounts:
   - Closed accounts that have no posts may be pruned at the discretion of WoWEmu.
   - There is no predetermined date for pruning closed accounts.


3. Account Preservation and Reactivation

3.1 Preservation of Account Structure and Contributions:
   - WoWEmu will preserve the structure and authorship of contributed materials associated with closed accounts.
   - This is done to maintain the integrity and history of the community's content.

3.2 Account Reactivation:
   - Reactivation of closed accounts is not a standard practice.
   - Exceptions for account reactivation may be considered on a case-by-case basis and require Administrator approval.


4. Modifications to the Inactive Accounts Policy

4.1 Policy Updates:
   - WoWEmu reserves the right to modify or update this Inactive Accounts Policy at any time.
   - Any changes made will be effective immediately upon posting the revised version on the WoWEmu website.

4.2 Notification of Policy Changes:
   - Users are responsible for regularly reviewing the Inactive Accounts Policy for any updates or modifications.
   - Notice of policy changes may be provided through appropriate channels, such as website announcements or forum posts.
